September 25, 2019

Greg, our Para Snowboard Head Coach, is going into his second season with the program. Formerly an athlete before he transitioned to coaching, Greg is constantly bringing new ideas and innovating to set the team up with the best chance for success in everything they do. Greg's ability to adapt his coaching to push the national team athletes, while developing the NextGen team and upcoming riders is a huge advantage for our developing program. This past season was a testament to what Greg brings to the table, as the team stacked some of the best results in the history of the program: 3 World Championship silver medals, a Dew Tour Bronze and multiple World Cup podiums. Greg is also a quality guy and shreds, so any chance you get to ride with him you should definitely take him up on it.

We caught Greg pre-season for some words on his career so far and what he is looking forward to most this season!

Name: Gregory Picard
Position: Head Coach Para-Snowboard Team
Years Coaching with Canada Snowboard: Starting my 2nd year
Career Highlights: 2019 World Championships - Silver Medal for SnowboardCross, Banked Slalom and SBX Team event
Memorable Coaching Moments: Dew Tour, December 2018. After missing the whole training because being with the ski patrol to survive altitude sickness, Sandrine is showing up on a skidoo 5 minutes before her turn to drop in and posted the 3rd fastest time on the Banked Slalom and actually left with the bronze medal !
What are you looking forward to most this season: Excited to see the new up and coming athletes reaching & racing on the World Cup tour.
