Max Parrot Completes The Three Peat At X Games Aspen

January 27, 2018

Max Parrot (Bromont, QC) put on a show for the crowd Friday night on his way to nabbing the gold medal at X Games Aspen Big Air. Max has now won X games Aspen gold in three straight years (2016,2017,2018) and has become the all time Winter X Games medal leader (7), and gold medal leader (4) both in Big Air.

As part of the X Games jam format, riders had 25 minutes to complete as many runs as possible, their two highest scoring tricks (1 spinning left, 1 spinning right) combining for their final score. Parrot was scored on a pair of stupefying tricks, a Cab Triple Cork 1800 and a Frontside Triple Cork 1440, enough for a combined score of 74 just ahead of Norway’s Marcus Kleveland and Japan’s Yuki Kadono.

"I'm super happy to win another gold medal [Friday night] and back up the one from last year", said Parrot. "The contest went really well, it was actually pretty hard. All the guys really threw down. There's been a lot of hardwork and I'm happy it paid off again tonight."

The focus for the Canadian team now shifts to Saturday’s Men’s Slopestyle final (12:00 PM PT/03:00 PM ET) with Mark McMorris (Regina, SK), Darcy Sharpe (Comox, BC), and Tyler Nicholson (North Bay, ON) all vying for top spot in the 8 man final.
