Official Update to Canada Snowboard Board of Directors
Following Canada Snowboards AGM in November 2020, Canada Snowboard welcomed 9 returning directors and 1 new director to the board to represent the organizations governance. Canada Snowboard strives to lead the sport forward domestically alongside the Provincial Territorial Snowboard Associations and abroad.
The board has lead a great deal of progress with the governance and updated policies of the organization and is now working through an updated strategic plan with our members and key stakeholders and looking forward to targeting great success in the coming years.
Director, Patrice Drouin has recently had to step down from the board in order to ensure he was not in a conflict of interest as he has accepted a great opportunity to support in a leadership role at the City of Quebec. With this, the board has decided to fill the vacancy as per by-law article 5.9 and has appointed a new director for a term that will expire at the 2021 annual general meeting. With this said, the Board of Directors has appointed and welcomed Chris Miall to the board of Directors.
Chris has a great deal of experience through his management role at Adidas Canada in leading Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. He is recognized as a diversity and inclusion facilitator and an ambassador of change and awareness within the Adidas Group. Chris has an extensive passion for snowboarding and a business background that will continue to provide leadership and oversight to Canada Snowboard in his role in governance.
