alumni - tws cover and old school alberta

November 12, 2019
Alberta has deep roots back in the early years of snowboarding and Alumni that helped build the sport that we all love today.

The Achenbach family birthed snowboarding in Canada. They helped to build it through the early years of competitions, culture creation through the legendary Snowboard Shop(s) and went on with literally decades of progression pushing camps with the Camp of Champions. Hats off to you Ken, Dave and mum Achenbach.

The sport owes you so much – you are absolute legends.

The first ever TWS issue is of a Canadian, in Alberta riding transition in `87. It was also the year of Ken Achenbach’s North American Snowboard Championships in Banff which was the main feature in this issue.
