Your first board’s gotta be your favourite right? Canmore, AB’s Mateo Massitti certainly thinks so, getting his start on an old rusty board his parents bought him at age 9 after taking his first ever snowboard lesson the year before. A product of Calgary's Winsport academy, Mateo's hard work and perseverance allowed him to join the NextGen set-up for the first time in 2018-2019. 

Mateo’s impressive bag of tricks is only getting bigger, and look for this kid to put down some serious contest runs in 2018/2019 as him and the rest of the NextGen take their progression to a whole new level.
