Safe Sport

November 10, 2022

We’re officially one month out from The Style Experience FIS Big Air Snowboard World Cup; Presented by Toyota, in the winter stronghold of Edmonton, Alberta. The best snowboarders in the world will congregate in The Commonwealth Stadium to showcase a dazzling display of athletic prowess - and style! You’ll want to secure your tickets soon, as the best seats in the house are limited, and going fast. It’s going to be the winter event of the year, with hot chocolate for some and a nice cold beer for others, there will be something for everyone. It’ll be the best outdoor party you’ve ever been to!

Top Tier Action

With Red Bull certified DJ’s, you know this party is about to take flight. We’re bringing in a booming sound system to elevate the entire guest experience, which will be accompanied by visual lights and projection show designed to amplify the epicness. TThe energy on the dance floor will be in tune with the scale of this event - it’s the largest Big Air scaffolding jump ever built in the entire world. The Style Experience is going to take over the full range of digital screens across the stadium (and beyond), producing an unmatched live event coverage experience.

The jump itself is carefully crafted by master park designer Charles Beckinsale. We’re honoured to be able to provide the invited riders with a world-class build that will allow them to fully unleash their potential. With anticipated attendance of highly decorated Canadian riders such as Max Parrot, and Laurie Blouin in the mix, you can expect to witness some stunning tricks on this beautiful beast of a jump.

Style is Key

The very root of snowboarding is style, and we are dedicated to regaining focus on this historically significant aspect of the sport we love. Style is smooth - and comes in a variety of ways. It can be a huge method, or it can be when you spin 1620 degrees through the air with a unique grab and land as light as a feather. In recent years, competitive snowboarders have exceeded what we once thought was impossible. This progression can, at times, sacrifice style. We’re bringing in a surprise style guru to judge a style contest that runs simultaneously with the Big Air World Cup. It’s a contest within a contest that adds another captivating dimension to the event - brought to you by our friends at Nitro Snowboards. Stay tuned to hear who will be tasked with judging the style contest!

In Good Company

We're opening up the commonwealth stadium to host this Epic event with a variety of food and beverage options!! Vendor village will be stacked with booths from ur partners and community, offering the chance to win sweet prizes and see some cool stuff.Over the next few weeks look out for the inside scoop on all the fun, epic prizes and things to do that goes beyond watching the the best snowboarders in the world coming. Not to mention, there will be a snow sliding hill built right into the stadium, so everyone can get a taste of what it feels like to glide down the stands of the stadium and get some sweet shots for all you social media gurus.

Who’s Coming?

As you can see, there’s an absolutely stacked list of Canadian riders, with the initial rider registration list ranging from seasoned veterans and Olympic medalists such as Max Parrot and Laurie Blouin, to the faces of the future of Canada Snowboard. Jasmine Baird is coming off of a 3rd place finish at the first stop of the big air world cup tour at Big Chur earlier this season, and is fired up to ascend the podium. Nic Laframboise just handled rehab, and is back on board looking stronger than ever. Truth Smith and Finn Finestone are both young guns with mad style, and plenty to prove. Emeraude Maheux is a young rider from Quebec, following in the footsteps of Lourie Blouin. And let’s not forget X-Games winner, style master, Olympian Darcy Sharpe, who is returning to the contest scene for the first time since an appearance in both big air and slopestyle in the Beijing Olympic Games. These riders will be joined by their international counterparts to duke it out for the top spot at The Style Experience.
