Four Canadians on the podium at the Para World Championships

January 16, 2022

All the way from Lillehammer, Norway we had the Para World Championships for a dual slalom event.

In a strong qualifications performance Canadians Lisa Dejong (Biggar, SK) sat in 1st, Sandrine Hamel (Montreal, QC) sat in 2nd, Tyler Turner (Calgary, AB) in 4th and Alex Massie (Barrie, ON) in 5th.

On finals day the Canadian Para crew threw down when it counted. On the women’s side Dejong finished with Silver and Hamel with bronze. On the men’s side Massie secured silver and Turner with bronze.

Amazing performances by all making it one of the highest medal turnout at a Para World Championships for Canada.
