(February 5, 2026) LATEST UPDATE on Mark McMorris
3x Olympic medalist Canadian snowboarder Mark McMorris will miss tonight’s big air qualification following a crash yesterday in training. Working in tandem with the Canada snowboard and Canadian Olympic committee medical teams, it was decided that as a precaution, Mark will skip the big air event to focus his efforts on being fully healthy for slopestyle.
"Fortunately, things are looking good for slopestyle, so I’m staying positive and shifting my focus there. Huge thanks to the incredible medical staff who took great care of me, and to everyone who reached out with so much love and support." said McMorris
Mark will be available for media leading into the slopestyle event.

(February 5, 2026) UPDATE on Mark McMorris
During Big Air training last night, Mark McMorris had a fall after landing a run. As a precaution, he was assisted off the slope and taken to the hospital with Canada Snowboard and Canadian Olympic Committee medical staff for evaluation. He has since been released and is back at the Olympic Village with the team’s medical staff.
Mark will undergo routine follow-up testing today to help determine his availability for tonight’s Big Air qualification, with a decision expected by 4 p.m. local time. He is feeling good and appreciates the support and well wishes from fans. Mark will not be available for media at this time.

LIVIGNO (February 4, 2026) – Snowboarder Mark McMorris had a heavy crash this evening during big air training. Canadian Olympic Committee and Canada Snowboard staff are attending to him. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
