Canada Snowboard Drops Into A New Season

December 1, 2025

The season is officially in motion, and the energy is already building. From Secret Garden to the Alps, The National Team is stacking results, logging heavy training blocks, and gearing up for a massive Olympic push toward Milano Cortina 2026. Here’s everything that went down and what’s coming next.

Secret Garden Sparks the SeasON

The first Big Air of the year touched down on November 28 in Secret Garden, China. Eli Bouchard came out swinging with a 93.25 in the qualifiers, topping the field and punching his ticket to the finals. He couldn’t quite ride out his 3rd run in finals, but still walked away with an impressive 4th place finish that puts him right in the early-season conversation.

Nicolas Laframboise also made finals with an 86.25, but was sidelined after a rough hit on his second qualifying run, landing him 10th. Mark McMorris finished 35th and Frank Jobin 48th, respectively.

With Olympic spots on the line, the internal Canadian battle is already heating up. Bouchard, McMorris, and Jobin are all aiming for one of the remaining two Olympic spots. Stay tuned, because this storyline is only going to get spicier over the next few months.

On the women’s side, Juliette Pelchat took 14th, while Jasmine Baird made her return to the circuit after last season’s injury, finishing 30th and building momentum for what’s ahead.

The squad stays in China for Beijing Big Air on December 6 before hopping across the Pacific to Steamboat, USA, for another Big Air showdown on December 13.

Landgraaf Kicks Things Off

The Para team kicked off their season at the double Banked Slalom World Cup in Landgraaf, Netherlands. Sandrine Hamel qualified 13th in the combined LL1/LL2 category. Alex Massie and Philippe Nadreau finished 10th and 11th in LL2, while Chase Nicklin earned 11th in LL1. No finals this time, but Landgraaf offered fast snow, tight turns, and the perfect early-season test before the action heats up.

The Snowboard cross crew returned to the snow in Pitztal, Austria, for a training block and Europa Cup races on November 26 and 27. It was the perfect tune-up before the real action begins. Their first World Cups of the season go down in Cervinia, Italy, on December 13 and 14 with a back-to-back racing format.

The next month is loaded. World Cups in four countries, multiple disciplines opening their seasons, and the first big opportunities to secure crucial Olympic qualification points. Every run matters. Every start gate counts. The road to Milano Cortina 2026 is taking shape, and Team Canada is locked in.
