At the age of 9, Sommer started snowboarding with the Beaver Valley Ski Club in Ontario. The Toronto native has had some international success attending the FIS World Championships in Park City and back to back double podium performances at the FIS World JR Championships. 2nd in BA and 3rd in SBS at the 2018 New Zealand JWCH and two 1st place finishes at the 2019 Sweden JWCH in BA and SBS. Sommer has been trending upwards and is currently 3rd in Canada and 13th overall in the world (as of Jan 2020). Sommer focuses mostly on the World Cup tour but is eyeing a start at some of the elite level events trending into the Olympic Qualification years. In her downtime she enjoys wakeboarding, skateboarding, running, and yoga.
