Coaching Program
Get involved and help develop the next wave of Canadian athletes.
The CSCP Community Coaching Stream has been developed to reduce barriers to coaches entering the pathway or existing coaches who want to coach specifically within a recreational context. Coaches, parents, or the "Weekend Warrior" can lead their participants during training with a non-competitive focus.
The entire training can be accessed through online workshops, so that participants can become trained at their own time. As a result, it is important to make note of the scope of practice that coaches can work with.
Course Costs: $60
Athlete Level: Learning basic skills, consolidating fundamental snowboard skills, active-for-life participants
Age of Athlete: Learn to Train LTD Stage 3 and Active for Life Stage 8
Training Volume: 1-2 days on snow per week
Context of Competition: Elleboard / Kindred Collective Programming, Grom Series, RAD Camps. Coaches cannot attend Provincial/Territorial series competitions or higher-level events as a Community Coach without supervision of a Competitive Coach working within their Scope of Practice.

- Sessions and Activities Planning
The pathway
In order to receive the "Trained" status as a CSCP Community Stream Coach, and individual must complete the following courses.
Steps to training:
- Create a locker account through Coach.ca
- Complete the free Canada Snowboard Coaching Program Pre-Course
- Complete the online CSCP Community Stream eLearning
- Complete the NCCP Multi Sport Training:
= TRAINED
Final Steps to coaching
All coaches regardless of certification must complete the following accreditation in order to coach:
- Safesport Training
- Making Headway in Sport
- Acquire a coaching license
- Get a background check (Can be completed through Sterling Backcheck during membership purchase)
