Laurie Blouin Captures X Games Aspen 2021 Bronze

January 31, 2021

Laurie Blouin (Stoneham, QC) once again took to the X Games Aspen podium, this time nabbing bronze during Friday’s Women’s Slopestyle Final. After recovering from a bad fall on her second try, Blouin nailed her third and final run to slide into third behind Jamie Anderson (Gold, USA) and Zoi-Sadowski-Synnott (Silver, NZ).

Amidst the pressure of her final run and a stacked field of the world’s top riders, Blouin landed a technical and impressive run that featured both a Cab Double Underflip and a Frontside Double Cork 1080 Weddle grab. It’s Blouin’s third X Games Aspen medal after she took home the gold in Women’s Big air in 2019, and silver in Women’s Slopestyle in 2020.

“This [one] means a lot, no matter the current situation. It’s always been a dream of mine to compete at X Games Aspen and I feel very grateful to be here and I’m truly enjoying the moment” – Laurie Blouin

In the Women’s Big air that was rescheduled for Sunday, Blouin threw down a front double cork 1080 double grab and a switch frontside double cork 1080 that nearly put her on the podium, with 4th place.

Seb Toots (Repentigny, QC) did not have the runs he was looking for and placed 10th in Slopestyle.

Brooke D’Hondt (Calgary, AB) with her fierce method ended up in 7th in Superpipe.
