Magnus began skiing when he was only 2 years old, it wasn’t until he was 7 that his parents caved after years of begging to snowboard, and finally let him start on a board he borrowed from family friends, he was hooked instantly.  Magnus made the switch from ski racing and started snowboard racing at 8 years old. Magnus found another family in Western New York with his Holimont snowboard race team where he was mentored by many great riders who were past and present Canadian Team Riders. Magnus made the switch from Holimont when access to coaching and higher level competition required a return to Ontario training and competition.

Magnus had his best season last year with many top 10 NorAm finishes and a season’s best 3rd place at the Le Relais NorAm in Quebec.  At 17 yrs old, and while competing in Jr. FIS competitions last season Magnus had consistent top four finishes. 

For 2018/19 Magnus has 2 key goals: 1) targeting a top 5 place overall on the NorAm tour, and 2) to learn all he can training as part of the National NextGen team constantly pushing himself to be the best racer he can be. 

In the summer Magnus keeps busy between coaching sailing in Oakville, modeling jobs with Elite, mountain biking, and cross training.
