Sarah has been snowboarding for almost 16 years now. She began snowboarding with her brother at Blue Mountain when she was tired of the stares she got when she skied. Sarah quickly fell in love with the sport then. She began competing in the 2018/19 season as a prospect, one was a provincial competition in Quebec and then onto Nor Ams in Big White. Sarah grew up in Collingwood, which is right beside the ski resort Blue Mountain, therefore it was easy to get to the hill after school and on weekends. It affected her love of snowboarding because she had easy access to it and was able to do what she loved often. Sarah hopes to become an up and comer in the LL2 category for the 2019/20 season.
Her season kicked off in September with training on a banked slalom course for the first time and she is very excited for what this season will bring. Hopefully a couple podiums along the way. Sarah wished to help grow the sport, specifically for women, and particularly young girls
with physical disabilities.
