When Nate was 10 he spent most of my time skateboarding, He bought a Second hand Burton elite 150 in 1988 learned to ride at Canada Olympic park and snowboarding soon became the most important thing in his life. The Chevron cup is the only contest he rode before Big White last year. Nate grew up in Calgary moved to Red Deer in 1992 both cities have little hills that he spent a lot of time at after school free riding and headed out to the mountains whenever there were fresh turns to be had. Nate feels living in central Alberta Riding COP and canyon shaped his snowboarding and honed his skills as a fast creative all around snowboarder. After high school he took up surfing and spent winters between Fernie and kicking horse. In 2006 Nate broke his back resulting in an SCI at Canyon Ski . It took almost a year to learn to walk without aids and it was a decade later that he tried snowboarding again. Fortunately it was like riding a bike and despite his legs not having the strength, his love was renewed for the sport. In the summer months Nate fly fishes the east slopes for trout. This season he is stoked to travel the world with his board and push himself to be a better rider and improve his world cup standing.
