Montreal native Marianne Laurin-Lalonde started snowboarding at the age of 7 with the guidance of her father. She grew up in a family of snowboarders and it was her father who inspired her to strap onto a board for the first time while her brothers fuelled her competitiveness. Her recent accomplishments led her to be named Quebec Snowboard's ‘Athlete of the Year Award’ in 2015-2016. Other highlights include a silver medal performance at Sports Experts Speed Nation Nationals in the junior PGS and representing Canada in both PGS and PSL at the FIS Junior World Championships in Czech Republic. When she is not on snow you can find her enjoying the outdoors or studying. With goals to dominate the NorAM circuit and consistently place in the top 30 on the World Cup circuit Marianne will be one to watch this year.
