2023 Canada Winter Games - PEI

ABOUT

The tradition of outstanding snowboarding will continue at the 2023 Canada Winter Games!

The Province of Prince Edward Island has been chosen as the host of the 15th edition of the Winter Games and the list of sports selected for the Games was recently released. From February 18 to March 5, it will bring together more than 3,600 participants to celebrate the very best in Canadian sport. This will be the third time the island open its heart to Canadian athletes,

 

Disciplines

 The disciplines chosen for the 2023 are :

 

Big Air (BA)
Snowboardercross (SBX)
Parallel Giant Slalom (PGS)
Slopestyle (SBS)

 

Development

For participants, this will be among their first opportunities to test themselves against the best young snowboarders in our country. The Canada Winter Games are considered a Stage 4 event in our Long Term Athlete Development pathway, and rank behind only the Canada Snowboard Nationals in terms of importance for this development group.

About the Canada Games

Held once every two years, alternating between winter and summer, the Canada Games represent the highest level of national competition for up and coming Canadian athletes. The Games have been hosted in every province at least once since their inception in Quebec City during Canada’s Centennial in 1967. The Games are proud of their contribution to Canada’s sport development system in addition to their lasting legacy of sport facilities, community pride and national unity.   

The organization of the Canada Games is made possible thanks to the contribution and support of the Government of Canada, provincial/territorial governments, host municipalities and the Canada Games Council.
