The Canadian National Snowboard Team delivered standout performances at the Engadin 2025 FIS Snowboard, Freestyle, and Freeski World Championships. From historic wins to career-best finishes, here’s how the team stacked up across all disciplines.
After securing Canada’s first Slopestyle Crystal Globe last season, Liam Brearley made history again, becoming Canada’s first men’s Slopestyle World Champion. He secured gold with a 90.15-point second run, delivering a clutch performance under pressure.
“I’m so glad I landed that run. I didn’t land my first one, and I was just like, ‘I’ve got nothing to lose, I’m going to put it all out there,’ and it worked out,” - Liam Brearley
Cameron Spalding, the 2024/25 Slopestyle Crystal Globe winner, finished 6th.
Éliot Grondin became a World Champion, claiming his first-ever title after an intense day of racing. He dominated the qualification and nearly won every heat, with his only close call coming in the quarterfinals when veteran Nick Baumgartner (USA) edged him out. Grondin's victory marked a historic milestone: He became the first Canadian to win gold in men's snowboard cross at the World Championships
In the semifinal, Meryeta O'Dine made the most of the big jumps in the closing stage to claim a crucial qualifying spot for the big final. Reaching her first-ever World Championship big final in Engadin, she was on track for a podium finish but crashed early, ultimately placing 4th.
Brooke D’Hondt achieved the best result of her career at the World Championships, finishing 9th. Ryan Vo brought some hometown pride to the competition, dropping in while repping a Calgary Flames jersey.
Arnaud Gaudet and Aurelie Moisan each finished 8th in Parallel Slalom, while Ben Heldman & Moisan secured a 7th-place finish in the Mixed Parallel Team event.
