Frank Jobin, a rookie to the X Games, walked away with gold in the debut of Street Style in Aspen, Colorado. Competing in his first-ever X Games, Jobin made his way to Aspen by winning the Street Style Pro event in December. In a podium sweep by rookies, Jobin stood tallest, proving that Canada’s next generation of snowboarders is ready to shine.
Adding to the X Games glory, Mark McMorris once again showed why he’s a living legend. With a silver medal in slopestyle, McMorris brought his career Winter X Games medal count to an astounding 24—a record across all sites. His 20th Aspen medal further cements his legacy as one of the most decorated and consistent athletes in X Games history.
The Para Snowboard Team continued to dominate on the international stage, delivering incredible performances at the World Cup and Europa Cup in Lenk, Switzerland. Tyler Turner took first place in SBX LL1 and earned a commendable fourth-place finish in another race. Meanwhile, Chase Nicklin secured his third Europa Cup victory of the season, a win that guarantees him a World Cup spot for the rest of the season.
With one more international stop on the calendar, the para team is now gearing up for the Welcome to Paradise FIS Para Snowboard World Championships, March 4th to 10th at Big White. With their current form, they’ll undoubtedly be a force to reckon with on home soil.
On the slopes of Rogla, Slovenia, the Alpine Snowboard Team had a strong showing at the Parallel Giant Slalom (PGS) World Cup. Arnaud Gaudet finished 10th after competing in his first-ever PGS finals, a significant milestone in his career. On the women’s side, Kaylie Buck finished 14th, and Auriele Moisan came heartbreakingly close to the finals, placing 17th—just 0.05 seconds out.
