Mazda Canada on board for another four years!

October 7, 2016

Vancouver, B.C – Heading into a big year for the Canadian National team, Canada Snowboard is proud to announce the 4-year renewal of their partnership with Mazda Canada. The new partnership will run through the 2019-2020 season and will see Mazda Canada take on an additional role as presenting sponsor of both the Sport Chek Air and Speed Nation National Championships.

Patrick Jarvis, executive director of Canada Snowboard, is looking forward to what this renewed partnership will bring:

“We are elated to announce the renewal of our partnership with Mazda Canada through the 2020 season. This partnership has been invaluable in a number of ways, not only providing our national teams with world-class transportation to training and competitions all over Canada and the USA, but also providing them with unique training opportunities such as our 7th Heaven Big Air Jump camp in Whistler Blackcomb this past May.

We are honoured to have such a devoted sponsor, and we look forward to the many successes this renewed partnership will contribute to in the upcoming years.”

In addition to their sponsorship of Canada Snowboard, Mazda Canada also personally sponsors one of Canada’s top Slopestyle athletes, Spencer O’Brien (Courtenay, BC) who captured her first ever X Games Aspen gold medal this past winter. Spencer has been instrumental in pushing the progression of women’s snowboarding, and is proud to have Mazda Canada as part of her support team:

"Mazda Canada’s continued support of the Canadian national team is incredible to say the least.  I’m grateful to have such a committed company behind us, supporting the entire team towards achieving our goals."

As Canada Snowboard’s premier automotive partner, Mazda Canada has been heavily involved in the Canadian snowboarding scene over the past few years, supporting events such as the Snowboard Jamboree World Cup in Quebec City, and chronicling the adventures of our national team through their Mazda Canada #Hangtime series.

“We are excited and proud to continue to be the official automotive partner of Canada Snowboard; supporting competitive snowboarding in Canada over the next four years.” Said Heather Boutcher, Manager of Marketing Communications for Mazda Canada.

“The alignment between one of the best teams in the world, their success, lifestyle, and passion for their craft really resonates with the Mazda brand and vision. We look forward to showcasing the partnership in new and unique ways and telling the stories of our riders and the sport.”

Canada Snowboard is grateful for the continued support that Mazda Canada provides our national team, and looks forward to another four years of inspiring the nation by telling the unique stories of our Canadian riders.
