A new and exciting element of the Snow Crown Event will be that it will be sanctioned by both FIS and TTR. The event will be sanctioned as a TTR 4 Star event. The Champion and prizing will be awarded from the complete list of athletes. Athletes will be given the opportunity to also collect TTR and FIS points at the event if they indicate they would like to be included in these categories. Anyone who would like to be ranked as a FIS competitor for the event will require and active FIS Licence and SAIP Insurance. This will be a Canada~Snowboard Supported and Sanctioned event to cover the liability for all athletes. Provincial membership is required to participate and be covered under this insurance.
ACCIDENT INSURANCE COVERAGE
Extended medical coverage is not a mandatory requirement unless riders wish to be listed as a FIS Competitor for the event. We strongly recommend athletes look into purchasing the Sport Accident Insurance Policy (SAIP). It can be purchased on the Canada~Snowboard website under member services. The 2A coverage covers any domestic events, 2B covers up the same, with the addition of 25 days out of country at a time. This coverage covers elements such as injury during a competition, as well as mountain rescue and heli-evacuation that is often not covered, even under extended medical coverage.
