Have any of your relatives sport at a high level?
My brother Carson plays varsity hockey for ridley college, my sister used to swim competitively and competed on the junior national swim team.

Why and how did you start snowboarding?
My father took my skis away because all I wanted to do was go straight down the hill an d he thought I was going to kill myself… he thought he could fix it by buying me a snowboard… until I discovered racing

What is your first memory of snowboarding?
First memory of snowboarding is being in the park at blue mountain riding the half pipe and someone landed on me and thought they killed me. I just remember seeing them above me, about to land on my head and I put my hands up to protect myself.. I think I got lucky.

Why is snowboarding so much fun to you?
It forces me to stay active, focused, healthy.

Who has had the most influence on your snowboarding career and why?
Jasey-Jay Anderson… at no point in time has he ever given me slack… he pushes and prods me to be better and hangs me out to dry for my mistakes.. its one of the best things anyone has ever done for me.

Do you do competitive sports other than snowboarding?
Sailing has been and remains one of my favourite things to do with my time. I recently got back in some boats this summer and started racing again. Lazers’s, 29er’s, and lazer 2’s.. It was a blast.

Did you win any awards? If yes, which ones?
Haha never … it was so weird, I think it’s because I was always spending my time snowboarding and sailing.. They don’t really hand out Athlete of the Year awards for those sports.

What do you do in the summer?
I spend the summer training my ass off, sailing, and getting in occasional regrettable family squabbles.

How would you describe your style of snowboarding?
My riding has a lot of really good touch and feel in it but unfortunately with that comes instability and unpredictability… but im working hard to change that and its going really well

What was your first job?
Ohhh good one, I ran a Globe and Mail paper route up north on a lake in Ontario. I delivered about 80 papers each morning by boat and by 7 am. Then I’d be at sailing training at 9...

What was your first car?
I still own my first car… she’s a champion… Toyota pick up truck… bought it from my old coach. I love that truck… but it’s up for sale now.

What is your highest level of education?
Royal St Georges College… high school

Do you play a musical instrument?
Piano… I hated that thing when I was young. My mom made me take lessons forever. I remember crying I hated it so much… I just regret giving up when I was 15.

What’s on your Ipod right now?
Drake, Vitalic Flashmob, The Treasures Band… and whatever is fresh on hype machine.

Favourite musical type?
I hate that question…

What music do you listen on race or contest day?
Depends on my mood… gangster rap to sugir ros
