Interested in volunteering at snowboarding events?
The Canada~Snowboard Speed Nationals and the Nakiska WSF Para-World Cup will be held at the Nakiska Ski Resort Area, April 1st – 7th, 2012, and we need your support!
What can you do? Positions available include:
- Starter
- Assistant Starter
- Finish Referee, Marshalls
- Course Maintenance
- Gate Judges
- Timing & Tabulation Assistant
- And more!
Never done it before? We will teach you! Can’t ski or snowboard? That’s okay. We have plenty of roles that don’t require you to do either.
When? The schedule looks like this:
April 30: Course Set-Up
April 1: Para World Cup training andSBX Traingin
April 2: Para World Cup and SBX training
April 3: Para World Cup and SBX Championship
April 4: SBX Championship, PGS training, and volunteer appreciation party
April 5: PGS Training
April 6: PGS Championship
April7: PGS Championship
We don’t ask for a minimum day requirement however volunteering is an all day task. We ask volunteers to be on the hill around 9:30 on training day shifts and 7:30 on race day shifts. The day will end at 4:30.
Interested? Volunteers and Officials are vital to the success of this event. We highly value the time volunteers donate to the event and aim to provide a fun, community experience for all who join our team. C~S will provide lift tickets, lunch, an invitation to our Volly Appreciation Party, as well as some awesome volunteer swag. We also can offer discount rates to volunteers at our host hotel, the Delta at Kananaskis.
