Freestyle

The top Junior Canadian snowboarders from across the country packed their board bags and headed over to Seiser Alm, Italy for the 20th FIS Junior Freestyle World Championships. The annual event showcases some of the best young riders in each discipline, and has been a stepping stone event for some of the World’s best. A strong showing from both female and male riders landed Canada on the podium several times at the 2016 edition. Here are the top Canadian results, buona lettura!

Carter Jarvis (Calgary, AB) – Slopestyle – Silver, Big Air - Silver
Océane Fillion (Saguenay, QC) – Big Air – Bronze
Francis Jobin (Québec, QC) – Big Air – Bronze

Speed

While our freestyle athletes were putting down a solid performance in the Italian Alps, our alpine and snowboardcross teams were saying ‘zdravo' to Rogla, Slovenia, the host for the speed disciplines. Jules Lefebvre (Montreal, QC) was the top alpine finisher with a 4th place finish in Men's PSL.

Meryeta O'Dine (Prince George, BC), winner of this season’s NorAM circuit, took home 4th place in the women's snowboardcross event while Will Malisch (Markham, ON) and Evan Bichon (Prince George, BC) took home 8th and 9th respectively on the men's side. Bichon and Malisch followed up their performance with a respectable 5th place finish in Tuesday's team event.

Full results are up on the FIS website here.
